Glossary

Sometimes, veteran player use abbreviations or shorthands that aren't immediatly self-evident to new players, here are some common one. Definitions of game mechanics here are refers to Weaverdice d20. If some two-letter abbrevation is missing here, it might be some of the common perks/flaws, that are too many to all be list here.

AGM: Assistant Game Master

AoO: Attack of opportunity, an attack your opponent can make under certain circumstances. One is a confirmed critical defense against your attack, the other is you exiting their melee range, as well as when moving further away while still inside it.

AP: Unless noted otherwise by the weapon or effect, armor-piercing effects typically treat the armor as one tier lower, ignoring a single lesser of DR. Any points of armor piercing from an attack which exceed the amount of DR the armor has damages shell instead.

aug/augs: Augment, a weaker but more specialized version of power perks you can roll for when you gain shardrep.

CDG: Coup de Grâce, killing a character who can't defend themself or has death sentence.

Conc/Conc check: Consciousness is rolled every time you take a moderate or critical wound, or at least 2 lesser wounds from one attack. Roll 1d10+Guts pips (not including superguts), versus a DC equal to the number of wounds you’ve taken, beyond those absorbed by armor or Superguts. Rolling a flat 10 before modifiers is an automatic success. Only roll for death if the last wound taken was lethal. Being a DC, you need only match the number of wounds taken in order to remain conscious.

Cov: Coverage costume quality. It negates or reduces some burn/freeze effects from wounds.

DC: Difficulty Class, a static number you have to roll against in some cases, like conc check. You succeed on a tie.

Damage/dmg: Damage is usually written compactly. “3m2l burn 1l pierce dmg” for instance means: “3 moderate and 2 lesser burn damage, and 1 lesser piercing damage.”

dr/DR: Damage reduction. 1l DR would reduce all recieved dmg by 1 lesser. 2m becomes 1m1l, 2l becomes 1l.

EO: Efficient Operator, a life perk.

expy: Exported Character, ported to the game from some other art of fiction.

GA: Guardian Angel, a power perk increasing survival chance.

IC: In Character, in opposition to OC/OOC.

L/Less: Lesser, as in a lesser wound sustained in a fight or a effect.

M/Mod: Moderate, as in a moderate wound sustained in a fight or a effect.

OC/OOC: Out of Charcter, in opposition to IC.

OGIB: refers to the Moderate burn Wound/effect “Oh My God It Burns”. The affected take one typeless moderate wound each turn until they use an action to put out the fire.

pvp: Player versus Player combat, one of the focuses of the game.

QG/QGs Questgiver. A person appointed to run quests for players.

Reduc/Reduction: Feature of the withstand skill, reduces all damage by one step of severity. Moderates become lessers, lessers are halved.

SBS: SkitterBabySitter, a bot on the discord channel

SB, SA, SD, SW, SK, SG: Superbrawn, Superathletics, Superdexterity, Superwits, Superknowledge and Superguts respectively. Superpowered version of the base stats that have ranks from 0 to 7. Commonly written together with their rank, e.g. SB3 means Superbawn rank 3.

strigger: Abbreviation for a second trigger.

SwC/SwC2: Street with Cars & Street with Cars 2, two common maps used to play out battles on

WHAU: 'We Have An Understanding', a power perk. Cape understands their power on a deeper level.

Wombat: Sometimes exclaimed when you want to fight or combat someone. Also an innocent animal.
